In 1935 all the various separate societies of amateur cultural activists joined together in a single union under the name of the Keila Social Club (Keila Rahvamaja). The Social Club used the building of the Volunteer Fire Brigade, which was later destroyed during the Second World War.
After the war the Social Club was renamed the House of Culture, and after the Keila region was consolidated in 1950 it became the Keila Regional House of Culture and used the former Keila Parish Community Centre, until the current building was completed in December 1956.
In 1962 the name was returned to Keila House of Culture when the Keila and Harju regions were joined together, and this name was retained until January 1997 when it was changed to The Keila Cultural Centre.
The Cultural Centre is the main venue in Keila for concerts, shows and social and leisure clubs.
The Cultural Centre puts on plays and concerts for children and adults, and organises balls, receptions and other events. Rooms can be rented for events.
